If ever there was a time that John 17:23 groups needed trained leaders, that time is now. Over the past year Global Group Development Director, Rob Woods, has worked tirelessly to transition our in-person training sessions into online training, while simultaneously increasing the number of training sessions offered. Pastors from around the globe now have access to monthly online training to learn about John 17:23 pastoral support groups—how to start a group and how to lead a healthy John 17:23 group. It became very clear that we needed someone who could focus on continued global training development and delivery so that Rob could return his focus to starting more groups here in the US and around the world.

Thankfully, God has been working on the details behind the scene, preparing just the right person to make this training available to even more pastors. 

David Whisman is a corporate performance consultant with more than thirty-five years of experience at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company. Primarily responsible for learning and development for the past fifteen years, he is an expert facilitator, performance consultant, and root cause problem solver. Dave has also served on our Development Team, which produced our Group Starter Kit and Group Coach Guide.

Having recently retired from Liberty Mutual, Dave is joining our team in a volunteer staff position to oversee our global training development. In this role he will continue to develop pertinent training materials to help strengthen and grow John 17:23 groups here in the US and around the globe. He will also oversee and expand our team of volunteer trainers who host our monthly online training sessions.
